I was at KitKattNohr Digitas, a top global Digital agency that’s part of the Publicis Group, to bring technical leadership to a range of private and public websites for the London 2012 Olympics, Team GB and the British Olympic Association (BOA).

I am heavily in all areas of the Olympics based projects, from board level discussions with KNDs new merger-driven management team (Paul Kitkatt / Mark Nohr), to working with and overseeing creative’s, writing business and technical documentation, helping manage budgets and project burn, dealing daily with the client on a range of technical and non-technical issues, managing self appointed and client appointed third-parties, recruiting and managing developers, both in house and remote, and even managing to find the time to write some great code and offer inspirational leadership!

The 6 websites are all built using Drupal 7 and leverage the advantages of a multisite Drupal configuration. Additional modules, including Organic Groups, Views, Mollum, WYSIWYG and Backup, are used and great care was taken to ensure the stability and maturity of these modules before signing off their acceptance within the build. The responsive grid-based theme framework, Omega, was chosen for the project predominately for its native support of HTML5 but also because of its liquid design principals and graceful degradation.

Traditional (‘waterfall’), agile and prototyping build processes all used within the project and all the project management was done via MS Project and Jira.

The websites built for the Olympics were:

1. New main website for the London2012 Olympics (www.olympics.org.uk)
2. A secure Athlete Accreditation Site
3. Campaign Micro site for ‘Join Our Greatest Team’ campaign that also featured advanced Flash
4. Private partner-facing Olympic Pledge site for all Olympic sponsors employees
5. A community and forum based site for the friends and families of Olympians
6. A video driven ‘welcome pack’ site for UK athletes who have been selected

* All sites had an accessibility implementation of Double A, and graded browser support to include IE6.
** Mobile and IOS support was also included.

Below is a brief summary of my work:

• Heavily client-facing. I was the single technical contact point for the multiple projects, my role included the presenting of ideas, board level discussions and multiple technical and business-related meetings
• Researched and agreed the requirements for a bespoke sports based CMS for both web and screen based (offices, Olympic village etc) content during the 2012 Olympics that enabled two communication from athletes to the public and the public back to the athletes
• Conception of ideas with creative’s and identifying technologies to enhance the sites functional creativity and overall stickiness (like using databases to create rich immersive comment driven digital walls in the athletes village)
• Third party technology provider discussion, evaluation and leadership including ePlayer, Movergy, GBSports TV, InfoStrada, YouTube, AnchorFan, Gigya and Getty
• Installation, configuration and evaluation of social networking and DMS technologies (open source and commercial) for use within the campaign elements of the site.
• Technical meetings with other relevant organisations  like the IOC and Locog and sponsors like BP, Mini, Cadburys and TechnoGym
• The facilitating of widget-based API, MRSS and RSS based data sources for real-time content
• Dealing with Rackspace, Amazon and Akamai and identifying and arranging suitable cloud servers, load balancing, content delivery networks and security
• Full content audits of legacy Olympic sites by Haymarket and Cisco.
• Mitigating against loss of data, establishing ownership of the  different types of data, the selection and installation of SSL and arranging for Penetration Testing by a ethical hacking organisation
• Writing test scripts and organising internal and remote QA
• UX, Wire-Framing, Mind Mapping and Prototyping

In addition other work I achieved for KitKattNohr Digitas includes:

• Helped instigate process and working methodology within KitKattNohr Digitas by meeting with all key directors and identifying concerns (Accounts, Planning, Project Management, Creative and Tech)
• Interviewing and hiring of technical and front end staff including high-level Drupal developers
• Working closely with Graphic Designers to ensure maximum leverage of liquid designs, the responsive grid and limit ‘over design’ at early stages of the project

Hyper is a phenomenally successful creative media agency whose clients include Nokia, Cadburys and Sony. They have just merged with Naked to form HyperNaked.

I was recruited by them as freelance Technical Director to assist with technical guidance and leadership on two concurrent projects for their clients, Cadburys and Pedigree. It was also my duty to act as a creative technologist and contributre to a pitch for a potential client.

I was recruited by HyperNaked as freelance Technical Director to technically lead their client Cadburys’ London 2012 Olympic campaign. Cadburys are one of the British Olympic Associations and the Games main sponsors.

The campaign, running now, is called “Keep Team GB Pumped” and the idea is that members of the UK public can record themselves via webcam singing 1 of 12 songs pre-selected to help inspire the athletes in their training. (Eye of the Tiger, Simply the Best etc). The recordings are then extracted on the server and recompiled as individual tracks or combined to form a UK Public choir for use in the TV and Radio Campaigns running up to and during London 2012.

The application element of the site was flash based with a Red 5 Media Server to facilitate the audio / web cam recording. Other non-flash (Dhtml, Html) elements were also used for website content and within the Facebook page.

The job included:

• Writing the technical documentation and project scope
• Wireframing, UX and some simple Prototyping
• Evaluation and appointment of development agency (Stink Digital)
• Numerous client meetings both technical and non technical
• Meetings with Cadburys preferred technology providers about hosting and data storage
• Numerous meetings and negotiations with YouTube with reference to using YouTube channels and YouTube Connect
• Negotiating with both Rackspace, Amazon and Akamai re Cloud based solutions, CDN’s and Load Balancing

Whilst contracting as Technical Director at HyperNaked I was required to assist them technically with their work on the Pedigree account for a new product launch, ‘The JumBone’.

The concept was a Facebook page and website with an embeded flash application for users to upload pictures and videos of their dog and then create and record sound effects in the ‘nom generator’ to sync with it. Once happy with the result a user could then recompile the video and submit it for consideration in the ‘Non-stop Nom film’ and share it with friends for their amusement or further viral participation.

I was responsible for working with both the creative’s at the concepting stage and then with the Account Director in order to produce the Information Architecture (IA) documentation and the Technical and Functional Specifications.

Seven is a Digital Customer Engagement Agency who make iPhone/iPad Apps and provide Web Solutions for clients like Sainsburys and Virgin.

I was recruited by them to create a WordPress-based site for DEFRA, the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs to replace their existing print-based magazine, Landscape.

Built using WordPress 3.1 the image heavy site was designed from the ground up to mimic the incumbent magazine.

The theme was built as a child-theme of twentyten designed to run in a multi site environment.  Due to this multisite setup and it being hosted on government servers, a prerequisite of site was that the theme would have its core functionality embeded, minimizing its reliance on external plugins.

The vast array of bespoke functionality included:

• Enabling multiple issue creation
• Colour coded sections
• Bespoke CMS configurations
• Mass of photography-based functionality

Line Communications is a market leader in bespoke e-learning content development with clients including Barclays, KPMG, Ford and Toyota.

I was contracted by them to update and improve their existing WordPress-based website. Working closely with their marketing departmant to work out their new requirements and ways they currently used their site, I reinstalled WordPress, imported their data, updated the existing plugins whilst checking comptibility, and then updated their bespoke theme in a variety of ways including:

• Making the theme compatible with the improved functionality of WordPress 3.0.
• Updating the design to incorporate the new site designs from the supplied PhotoShop files.
• Adding an elegantly degrading post slideshow that works in Internet Explorer 6.
• Adding the ability to seemlessly pull in their Twitter content and YouTube channel.

I was employed as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Ki Performance, a leading health and wellbeing provider to primarily manage their technical relationships with third parties, spec and develop white-labelled health and diet portals and create affiliate technologies that could increase sales opportunities.

Whilst there i was also designed and built a rich media campaign to increase armband sales and even planned and deployed the placements of these ads on Google’s Ad Network. Additionally I had to maintain and develop their ASP-based ecommerce site, their Word Press-based blog, their YouTube channel and other online press and PR.

Internally, I was involved with the day to day running of the business, acting as a catalyst to working smarter at every opportunity. Areas included creating a content archive, introducing cloud-based collaboration including the externalising of all communications and creating an in house support ticketing system utilising trellis desk.

Substantial time was also spent investigating the migration of their current .ASP eCommerce store to an open source Magento-based system.

I was asked to create a variety of online media concepts for a launch campaign for Citroen’s DS3 by OutSorcery, one of EuroRSCG’s top creative agencies. The campaign theme was ‘AntiRetro’.

Full story boards were submitted for each concept along with working flash examples that i built of the more advanced, proposed functionality. Citroen choose one of my concepts for production, ‘The Dialer’, which, along with OutSorcery’s ‘Car Configurator’ concept became the crux of Citroens online campaign for the DS3’s launch.

Upon winning the pitch i was then responsible for both the production and build of the live, final versions of all the flash banners in various sizes and formats including a full homepage page takeover of MSN.co.uk. I was also responsible for trafficking the banners through the DoubleClick network.

I was asked to build a range of flash rich media banners for the Citroen C3 Campaign whilst working for OutSorcery, one of EuroRSCG’s top creative agencies. They were built for the doubleclick network. This was in addition to the rich media ideas and build that i did for them (click here to find out more).

I was responsible for taking static designs and producing rich media, syncronised flash banners for leading investment bank, Credit Suisse whilst working for Outsorcery who are one of EuroRSCG’s top creative agencies. They utilised Flash’s local connection for between swf communication and were hosted on Credit Suisse’s main website.

I was required to discuss, spec and build an interactive Climate Change application for UKCIP (UK Climate Impacts Programme) via Oxford Universities Advanced Learning Department. It was built in Flash and featured 5 separate applications with video that educated businesses about the impact of Climate change and how to mitigate against changes in it. The overall UI was 3D based, utilising a carousel-based engine and the individual applications featured a range of interactive, learning-based elements ranging from games to more standard drag and drop interactions.

EMC is one of the world’s leading IT Consultancies and I was appointed as a technical consultant to both advise on and build a video-rich microsite for Next’s Winter Advertising Campaign. Timings were very tight as the TV ad campaign had been already booked and there was no technical documentation or user journeys’ supplied. Having established just what was required, I was able to deliver a beautiful, compelling, engaging, rich website with streamed videos, interviews, extensive effects and tweening that adhered to the clients and consultancies high expectations within the this astonishing timeframe.

I was contracted as Technical Director to primarily install process and bring strategy and innovation to this rapidly expanding, ecommerce provider whose clients included Bench, Gant, Reiss, All Saints and Hooch. The majority of my time was taken up liaising with these lead clients and assisting with their digital strategies to push sales both in store and online through good use of technology. I also was responsible for assisting in client pitches in both a creative and technical capacity.

Other areas included:

• A full evaluation of their existing ecommerce platform, enrich, and the scoping of a new, improved version whilst using Magento for inspiration.
• Organising the company-wide use of a centrally-managed asset and project management tool (Jira) that massively improved transparency and accountability within their Scottish head office and their London and LA offices too.
• Working out the logistics and process to transfer all existing client sites and platforms over to Rackspace.
• Writing new SLA’s to vicariously extend Rackspace’s own SLA’s and investigating service insurance policies.
• Ensuring that all test scripts are accurate
• Separating Logic and Design in site builds via templating, specifically smarty templates.
• Instigating user data analysis to follow user journeys & behaviours in order to increase conversions.
• Introducing the use of Adobe Scripts to enable easy batching of tedious image tasks on and off site.
• Improving Localisation on platform by instigating multiple currencies

Whilst Technical Director at Drive Business I spent alot of time working closely with All Saints, the phenomnally successful fashion retailer who’s international ecommerce site was turning over £40 million annually.

I had the task of improving their website from both a functional and physical perspective in order to increase sales and site performance. This included:

• Reworking of websites homepage to incorporate dynamic content deep linking to new products and collections.
• Prototyping a clothes viewer written in flash to enable both image and video based content to have clickable product hotspots in realtime.
• Improving Navigation and Usability by increasing a logical hierarchy to the sites structure after extensive usability anayksis. Again the aim was increase sakes opportunities and decrease dropoff.
• Advocating the use of SIFR to replace png buttons and brand elements to increase the brand experience whilst decreasing page loading times and optimising the servers performance.
• Implementing logical switches in database to ensure maximum efficiency.
• Instigating user data analysis to follow user journeys & behaviours in order to increase conversions.
• Improving search queries by rewriting meta data including the use of batch bitmap RGB analysis for color tagging products.
• Increased visibility of work for client via Jira.
• Investigating and prototyping the best open source platforms to manage customer services efficiently and reduce the custommer services departments dependance on Outlook.

Whilst Technical Director at Drive Business, the leading eCommerce company, i was responsible for the planning and build of a new flash based site for Kelly Brook.

Along with two flash developers and a designer we built a beautiful AS3 site with a heavy reliance on photography.

Another significant feature was that Kelly and her management team were able to add and amend all content via a secure CMS.

Whilst Technical Director at Drive Business, the leading eCommerce company, I was responsible for the creation of a Flash look book for one of their main clients, Reiss.

This flash application resided on the homepage of their main website and enabled the user to quickly find the type and style of clothing that they sought in a visually emersive and engaging way.

I was contracted by Saatchi and Saatchi’s in London to direct them in ‘bringing Digital to the heart of the agency’ after the demise of Saatchi Interactive. It was my responsibility to run all London-based Digital work, brainstorm with the creative’s (mainly with the global creative director), assist the Head of Operations’ in sorting process, scope and Digital project management. I was also responsible for building a scalable supply network of third party companies that Saatchi’s could utilise on specific Digital projects, recruiting both freelancers and permanent staff and vetting all client pitches from a creative and technical perspective. The London-based work I oversaw included Visa, T-Mobile, Atlantis, Starbucks, Cadburys, NSPCC, Axa, General Mills, the Marine Stewardship Council and the rebuilding of Saatchis website.

Responsible for overseeing the development of numerous campaigns including a AS3 Flash micro site for the launch of the G1 Phone from Google. This project included an outsourced Google Map game (via their API) with full database driven scoring and viral functionality. Throughout this project I had to liaise regularly with Google, their business and technical contacts and the game’s developers’ who were based in New York and LA. I also was responsible for commissioning the same company (SMERC) to build a G1 Mapping Game / Engine that utilised the new Open Source mobile Android operating system. The game could be played on the phone or downloaded as a Open Source SDK from T-Mobile to assist developers to develop new, map-based games. In addition to this, I also managed a series of multi-lingual rich-media banner campaigns including one for the launch of the new G1 Phone from Google and assisted in the procurement of suitable external companies to work on a new dance-based avatar’ campaign.

Researched and specked out a touch screen game campaign for Cadburys Cream Eggs to be used over the Christmas period in London-based bus shelters. The campaign was utilising outdoor media owners JC Decaux’s screens and technologies and, thus, I had to liaise with their technologists too.

Atlantis – The Palm is a luxury hotel based at the Palm, Dubai. It was my responsibility to advise the account directors’ on the best way to implement their clients Digital offerings. Work overseen included a Paper Vision based content carousel with a full CMS for their site, a variety of flash assets for their American hosted/built site and numerous email rich-media mail campaigns for delivery via their preferred mail marketing companies. I also assisted the Account Director compile the Atlantis 2009 Digital Agenda presentation for Sol Kerzner.

Attended numerous strategic meetings to discuss and begin the implementation of General Mills’ 2009 Online strategy for their numerous food-based brands. These brands included Green Giant, Betty Crocker, Haagan-Dazs and Old El Paso.

Whilst working as Freelance Technical Director at Saatchis I was responsible for Technical Project Management of a half finished Database-driven Flash project that they had commenced for the Post It brand of 3M.

The project was an emulation of the Successful Deal or No Deal TV programme. Cash prizes were available and thus additional security measures had to be implemented both within the flash-based content, the phone and on the server via an SSL certificate. Other challenges included the localisation of content, IP address restrictions and load balancing.

Responsible for overseeing the London-based rebuilding and populating of a website that had been initially built for Starbucks by their American-based web development agency. The overriding issue was the lack of flexibility in the existing AS3 code to implement content changes efficiently and I advocated the rewriting of the classes to cater for an xml-based content structure for easy updating and localization and to ensure future coding compatibility.

Oversaw a tv campaign’s conversion to online. This included working with the creative’s to maximise the sourced material from the existing commercial’s footage. I was also responsible for raising numerous concerns about impossible creative treatments that were about to be pitched to the client.

Assisting the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) with a producing a content layer and corresponding website to work within the new Google Oceans application.

Assisted the above the line creative’s extend their award winning campaign against cruelty to children onto the web as an interactive game. Liaised with both the animation production company and a Kiev-based development partner to get the project started and built a working flash demonstration illustrating the way the code should be implemented.

Responsible for overseeing two large Digital campaigns that included numerous video/flash asset creations for Visa’s partner sites and a wealth of rich media banners that ran on FlashTalking. I had to attend numerous client meetings and liaise regularly with the account director, Visa’s head of marketing and their third-party suppliers about all aspects of their campaign. I was also responsible for giving guidance to the film production companies involved on how best to optimise their shoots for successful content capture for a web-based campaign, sourcing technological companies for massive brand building public events and liaising with creative Digital agencies who were providing new treatments for a campaign.

Steria, the leading IT services provider in Europe, employed me primarily as the lead CBT consultant on their clients, the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) new Diploma aggregation service that was to be used by schools to manage all UK-based students’ qualifications. I had to attend high level discussions with the client and decide on the best approach to take to roll out the CBT in stages. It was then my responsibility to design and build the web-based and CD-Rom CBT packages for the four different levels of users by utilizing Flash, Xml & Captivate. It was also my responsibility to setup Subversion-based source control running Trac for errors and tasks. At the project I had over 9 people working for me writing tutorials, developing, capturing content and QA.

I was primarily employed to work on the Shell account as their Creative Developer advising both the client and colleagues and developing applications and sites. Over time however, being the only ‘permanent developer’ in JWT I became more involved with JWT-specific work, driven by JWT’s Global Creative Director, Craig Davis. Other work included WordPress sites, evaluating various open source cms packages, assisting with ‘flash’ problems for other clients and giving lessons to JWT’s employees on all things Digital.

JWT :: Desktop Apps for PC, Adobe Air & Mac

I was responsible for conceptualizing, specking out and developing numerous JWT-based applications during my time there. The most significant was the ‘JWT Thing’ which was a windows (desktop application compiled via Zinc) and also a Mac dash board widget that enabled users to view, add and query a variety of relevant blogs (internal and external) that were deemed of interest to the agencies’ employees, Every employee within JWT London had this application on their computer. The backend consisted of modifying the open source software, WordPress to facilitate the advanced functionality that was required. Other projects I assisted with were the CultUrl application (viewing and submitting the companies’ favorite urls) and JWT Showcase, an interactive database-driven work portfolio.

Created a 3D Page Turning Photo Book in Flash to show all the photos taken from the JWT Christmas Party. The book was entitled, “You show me yours and I’ll show you mine” and enabled visitors to leave comments too.

JWT :: Digital Seminars for JWT’s employees

I advocated and was encouraged to hold a series of seminars for JWT employees about the internet, interactive marketing, emerging-technologies, open source and web 2:0. Each was designed to give a simple, un-technical approach to educating ‘advertising people’ on all things digital.

I was assisted in the planning and implementation of a variety of Flash projects. My work included planning, solely-developing and supporting an award winning 3D-Flash recruitment site on shell.com, creating numerous rich-media banners for a variety of global campaigns, meeting with ad networks like Eye Blaster and Double Click and participating in Media Buying and Planning meetings with MediaCom.

Conceptualised and developed an idea for a campaign to launch a new keg based product in Greece. Idea was based on a virtual house party that you could invite your friends to whilst receiving a free drink from the keg on entry, The most visitors, hence the most beer, would then get their own real house party paid for by Heineken.

These supported an anti slavery campaign for MTV. Also used detailed tracking via both Reinvigorate and Google Analytics and streamed video.

Bug solving on a Flash 9, AS3 site built by a freelancer.

It was my responsibility to manage, plan, develop and implement a ‘revolutionary’ video-based travel website, specifically for broadband, for their client, Thomas Cook. The site featured detailed holiday searches that provided video-based content for all countries, resorts and hotels on their database. Another feature was the ability to send any of these videos directly to your mobile, you PC, Mac or even iPod. Developed in Flash, with a JavaScript powered Windows Media overlay for the video content, I also oversaw the development of the Java backend and its’ bespoke CMS that provide the site with XML based API’s, liaising daily with the third party providers on all areas like, video streaming, mobile delivery, tracking as well as attending numerous project and planning meetings with the Thomas Cook management.

I was recruited via Sapient to amend and update Orange’s business services flash site to include a new range of services that they were offering. I was solely responsible for all the work and organisation of the project including liaising directly with Orange Business Services Manager, both on site and at Oranges HQ. The majority of the work was Flash-based and I also had to capture and create numerous Captivate Tutorials to accompany the site.

Fixing bugs that they were experiencing when running their interactive Flash-based interviewing software on PDA’s via wireless networks. I was also responsible for optimising the performance.

Moving Brands is an independent, award-winning branding company that creates powerful new ways for brands to connect with people, and people to connect with brands.

I was employed by them as a Flash developer to build two pieces of work, a CD-Rom for Vodaphone and a prototype site for Nokia. To find out more just click below.

Creation and deployment of an interactive site demonstration for their new mobile phone branding. It was to be presented to the global marketing executives of Nokia. MovingBrands supplied me with the visuals and videos and a series of story boards and I had to build the site via Flash. The site and demonstration included numerous interactive elements and a wealth of audio effects.

Creation of an interactive Flash presentation for Vodaphones’ executives explaining the next generation mobile technologies. Use of AS1 and AS2 to bring their Adobe Illustrator slides to life, navigation was controlled via the keyboard using the same commands as PowerPoint. It was published and distributed both as an .exe and a CD-ROM.

It was my responsibility to help plan and implement a Digital Curriculum Project for their BBC Jam site. The cutting-edge commission involved users collaborating on a series of missions through which they could learn or test themselves on all aspects of the science curriculum. The project featured interactive video feeds with real-time updates and all content was localised for English, Welsh, Scottish and Gaelic speakers. I was also responsible, after my work at Microsoft, for writing the web service classes that the project was built on.

I was recruited to amend a Flash UI on a .Net-based holiday reservation site that ran web services. The main amendments were to add the ability for subscribers to amend their holidays’ itinerary and fix a variety of outstanding bugs that had been left by the two previous Flash Developers.

I was recruited by Cable & Wireless to finish off an online tutorial viewer and Cd-rom that was part of the Secure Email service that they were building for the Criminal Justice System. It was my responsibility to add a range of additional features to the existing viewer that they had built and also to enable the application to work efficiently both online and offline as a CD-Rom. The code was AS2 and tutorials were captured via Macromedia’s Captivate.

Planning and developing the BBC2’s new ‘showcase’ broadband website. The website was written in XHTML, CSS and JavaScript and featured many Flash 7 and 8 enhancements. The site contained many advanced features, including the BBC’s first use of Flash 8 streamed video and the ability for the site to dynamically render assets according to both GOIP, bandwidth and system capabilities. All elements of the site also had to be totally accessible. Whilst I was there, I was also invited on two occasions to meet with senior American representatives from Macromedia to discuss improvements to Flash both as software and as a platform, and also to advise the BBC’s design teams on how to co-work with developers on Flash projects.

The Digital Curriculum (including the now defunct BBC Jam) provided e-learning for all schools in the UK. It delivers high quality video, audio and interactive educational content over the Web. I was employed as part of the IM Group, to work as a consultant for Microsoft (and whilst there, Hewlett Packard). I advised and instructed the project managers on the best way to implement a Flash GUI throughout the Digital Curriculum. I was also responsible for developing a range of Flash/JavaScript API’s in ActionScript 2 for integrating the projects Web Services for use by all content providers.

Responsible for redeveloping the Flash front-end, ironing out any existing bugs and adding additional functionality. The finished product had the ability for users to annotate, edit and preview their print jobs remotely, create different levels of users, follow amendment histories and collaborate in real-time.

I was recruited briefly to work from home, helping with a project’s flash implementation that was based around a virtual world.

I was responsible for the entire development of a Flash-based microsite that supported a major TV and Press promotion promoting the new nutritional content of their happy meal choice meals. The site, aimed at mothers and children, featured a wealth of content including a nutritional calculator that enabled a user to select their desired meal combination and it’s nutritional content. All content had to be both accessible and trackable.

Working over a weekend from home to resolve numerous issues within a flash site that was due to launch at 9 am on the following Monday. All issues were either resolved or if there wasn’t time an explanation was supplied for how to fix the issue that their developers could address the next week.

I was employed by Arc Interactive to work for their client Fiat. It was my responsibility to create an html-based email template, using both PhotoShop and DreamWeaver, that would be dynamically created and dispatched to the required addresses via their ASP backend.

Built a scripted, animated introduction for a client’s site that featured physics-based wind-blown blades of grass that randomly move and settle. The wind speed, order, rotation speed etc were all randomised to make the effect as realistic as possible. I also had to build an advanced scrollable navigation system for the site that enabled auto-selection so that when the user wasn’t doing anything, the site could be used as a screen saver.

Contracted directly by Cisco to work on an ad hoc basis remotely from home via secure access to their intranet. Work included an html email template for their UK Directors and numerous web banners in both flash and graphic formats.

Planned the entire project, liaised with the clients directly and developed the functionality. The Quiz Engine was written in Flash and queried an Excel-editable, CSV database to enable easy data updates. All user statistics were tracked to the Shared Object Library for further reports, analysis and printing. Other useful functionality included the ability to host the product online and the potential to both design and print customised examination papers.

It was my responsibility to redevelop and extend their existing Intranet Site to incorporate a “Developing New Processes” section and other additional content. The majority of the work involved converting existing word documentation into xhtml and the editing of existing intranets’ navigation. I was also involved in nuerous meetings to establish best practice.

I was responsible for resolving the numerous issues they were facing whilst using Flash for the first time in as a UI for a game. The majority of the issues were related to localisation, i.e. dynamically rendering 15 different languages, including Japanese, on a variety of games platforms – all within a very tight graphical framework.

Was employed by Publicis to rewrite existing html content, for use in InMarSat’s new XHTML website. All code had to be checked for W3C compliancy before being submitted to their new Content Management System that Publicis had developed.

In addition to designing sites for both DoDec and its sister company DoSo, I also was responsible for developing and designing for clients including Tefal, Rowenta, Bonus Print, Krups, ForeMost Villas, Director UK, Credit UK and Youth2Youth.

I was responsible for recoding and redesigning their website for launch in September 2002. This highly visual yet corporate website included a wealth of HTML, JavaScript, downloadable forms, flash-based enhancements, advanced cgi-scripting, css and extensive cross-browser compatibility.

Flash-based CD-Rom that I developed for London-based developers, Webb Technologies and their client Egg Interactive. The CD contained a real-time interface for updating text, uploading presentations, interaction with their XML-based extranet, an interactive search engine, the ability to recognise users and write data to the hard drive for use at a later date.

Converted their existing ASP-based Portal to Interactive Television specifications. Site was designed in order to optimise both the picture quality and the user experience on a variety of TV displays without the use of a mouse. Also created twelve trackable flash-banners for use in their Internet portal and online advertising campaigns.

HTML micro-site with JavaScript & CSS for Parcel Force’s online presence at the leading Internet auction site, eBay.com.

Series of animated flash-templates that I designed and embedded into PowerPoint. Work included an animated/ branded introduction, animated world map, interactive pie charts, flow charts and dynamic, updateable data.

Screened at the Crucible, for the Post Offices rebranding as Consignia. Contained a wealth of ActionScript, stunning animations and high-resolution photography and a wealth of creative table and chart effects.

Created an ASP-driven, certificate to display real-time data for this leading American employee health corporation. Detailed ActionScript coding with mathematic calculations resulted in a dynamic web-based pie chart. Also was responsible for the creation of a series of interactive, educational animations for their leading corporate health portal, LifeCheck.com.

Created for leading London-based design agency, Big Fish. The WHSmiths Amazing Adventures CD-Rom, which is still on sale, was flash-based and contained QuickTime videos, audio channels and a wealth of information on over 30 different adventure activities.
